The FIFA Foundation has announced a commitment of USD 1 million from its Humanitarian Fund to support relief efforts following the devastating earthquake that has affected communities across Venezuela.

The funding will help provide urgent humanitarian assistance to those impacted by the disaster, supporting emergency response efforts and helping communities begin the road to recovery.

The support forms part of the FIFA Foundation's commitment to delivering rapid assistance to communities affected by natural and man-made disasters through its Humanitarian Fund, which enables emergency funding to be mobilised quickly when crises occur.

"The people of Venezuela have the full solidarity of the global football family during this incredibly difficult time," said FIFA President Gianni Infantino. "Football has a unique ability to unite and inspire hope, especially in moments of crisis. Through the FIFA Foundation, we are proud to stand alongside the people of Venezuela and support humanitarian organisations and local partners working tirelessly to deliver urgent assistance to those most affected."

"The thoughts of everyone at the FIFA Foundation are with all those who have been affected by this devastating earthquake," said FIFA Foundation Executive Chairman Mauricio Macri. "Football has an extraordinary ability to bring people together, especially in moments of great need. Through our Humanitarian Fund, we are committed to standing alongside the people of Venezuela and supporting outstanding organisations working tirelessly to provide emergency assistance to affected communities."

The Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF) has also been actively supporting relief efforts through the country's football community, demonstrating the important role football can play in helping communities respond and recover during times of crisis.

Since its establishment, the FIFA Foundation Humanitarian Fund has distribuited millions of dollars and emergency kits in support for communities affected by major humanitarian emergencies around the world, reinforcing football's unique ability to mobilise assistance and solidarity beyond the pitch.

Further details on the implementation of the funding and supported projects will be announced as humanitarian assessments continue and operational arrangements are finalised.
